The Pearl Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Wednesday, April 29th for the new Baseball Hitting Facility at Pearl High School. The indoor hitting facility has been a dream of the Diamond Club for many years. They were the driving force behind the project and even partnered with the school to provide part of the financing. The state of the art facility allows for practice no matter what the weather may do. It is equipped with lighting for practices at night, and is conveniently located adjacent to Pirate Park. The netting can be partially or completely take down for drills such as pitching or fielding. The hitting facility joins the softball complex, tennis courts and Pirate Park as being a great first impression as traffic is coming down Pirate Cove. As always, it is a great day to be a Pirate! Pictured cutting the ribbon is Head Coach Brian Jones.
