Community Coffee was selected as the Pearl Chamber of Commerce March Business of the Month. Community Coffee began in 1919 and is owned by the Saurage family in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Cap Saurage started roasting and brewing coffee in his own little country store to deliver by horse and wagon to grocery stores and friends in the community. When he decided to give the coffee a brand name, the name “Community” seemed the best fit for him because he literally got his start by s...erving his community. Four generations later the family is still selecting only the best coffee beans and roasting them in the same location in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Ricky Emmons is the Sales Specialist and Trainer in our area and is very involved in our community and chamber events. He is a perfect example of the kind of community leader that Community Coffee was founded by and we are proud to call him a friend and chamber member.
