We are proud to announce that the Pearl Fire Department Firefighter of the Month is Firefighter Phillip Ohlis. Phillip is currently a firefighter on C Shift at Station 1. Phillip began work with the Pearl Fire Department 3 years ago on June 10, 2013. Phillip is a Nationally Registered EMT and has already documented 1000 training hours at the State Fire Academy. Phillip is a highly dedicated firefighter who has that a passion for the job that is contagious. Phillip also serves our country in the National Guard as a Black Hawk Helicopter Pilot. He has served both war time and state time. Since joining the fire department Phillip has set an example as being a leader who loves his job and takes pride in his work.
The Pearl Chamber of Commerce presented Firefighter Ohlis with a framed certificate, a $100 Bass Pro Gift Card and a Cracker Barrel Gift Basket complete with a dinner for two people. Buckley Security donated a $25 Kroger gift card, The Pearl Municipal Credit Union donated a $25 Visa Gift Card; MedScreens donated a $25 Subway gift card; Moss Creek Fish House donated a $25 gift card; McAlister’s Deli donated a meal for two; Jose’s Mexican Restaurant donated a $20 gift certificate and Signmark donated a soft side cooler.
