Several hundred people attended the Ribbon Cutting and Grand Re-Opening Celebration of Mid-South Auction on Tuesday, January 27th. Mid-South Auction is located at 1657 Old Whitfield Road in Pearl, one mile off Airport Road. The facility was heavily damaged after the devastating EF2 tornado ripped through Rankin County in April 2014. Mid-South Auction began in Jackson in 1982 and moved to the Pearl location in 2005. The facility sits on 48 acres and they have 76 employees; several employees have very long tenures up to 32 years. The newly remodeled sales arena features six auction lanes and will handle 1,000 vehicles for an individual sale. This new facility is complete with a drop ceiling that keeps it cooler in the summertime and warm in the winter and also helps in the acoustics during the auctions. They are also proud of their new epoxy coated floors, sound boards, speakers and computers. “Dealer Only” sales are every Tuesday and once a month Mid-South holds a sale for the general public. They also hold a “Dealer Only” mobile sale in Meridian every month. Shown cutting the ribbon is General Manager Tim Brantley. For more information call 601-956-2700.
