The Pearl Chamber Member of the Month in November is The Spring Lake Garden Club of Pearl ms. They were chartered in 2009 and meet monthly at the Pearl Parks & Recreation Building. The Spring Lake Garden Club sponsors many events throughout the year such as the Annual “Ladies Night Out”, an Arbor Day Ceremony and their signature event “Tablescapes”. SLGC works with the Life Skills Class at Pearl High School, plants and maintains the Learning Garden at the Pearl Library, provides the centerpieces for the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast and plants trees and flowers throughout the year. Bob's Pool Service was selected as the Pearl Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month in July. Mr. Bob Atkisson opened Bob's Pool Service in 1964 in Bright's Shopping Center in Pearl and moved to the current location at 5014 Hwy 80 East in 1973. Bob's Pool Service continues to be a family owned and operated business with the late Mr. Bob's son Jim and his wife Karen managing the day to day operations. Of their 38 employees, they have many that have long tenures with the company, several of whom are family members. Bob's Pool Service has three departments within the company. They have the retail store that sells everything from chemicals and parts to pool floats and Primo smokers and grills that are made in the USA. They also have the largest service department in the state as well as a cleaning route that cleans and maintains over 400 pools on a regular basis. Bob's Pool Service specilaizes exclusively in gunite in-ground pools. They can make your backyard into a special place for outdoor entertaining and relaxing. Congratulations to Sutherlands Pearl for being chosen as the Pearl Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month in June. Sutherlands has been in Pearl for 22 years specializing in building material, floor covering, plumbing and electrical supplies, paint, lawn and garden and sporting goods. Congratulations to Pioneer Ministries on being selected as the Pearl Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month. Camp Pioneer is located on Old Whitfield Road in Pearl and is celebrating their 70th anniversary this year. Kids from all over the state and some from out of state enjoy coming to Camp Pioneer for a time of Christian fun and learning. They are taught values, character development, respect for others and other life lessons as well as how to dress, speak and be a leader. They have so much fun camping in the log cabins, swimming in the in ground pool, playing basketball in the gym and playing on the challenge course that has zip lines, a climbing wall and so much more. They enjoy campfires and learning about nature but most importantly they learn about Jesus Christ and grow spiritually. Camp Pioneer is a non-denominational non-profit that has several fundraisers throughout the year to help with scholarships. Congratulations to Crossgates Veterinary Clinic for being selected as the Pearl Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month in April. CVC is one of the very few veterinary clinics in the state that is AAHA Accredited, which is the highest level of excellence that can be obtained for a veterinary clinic. CVC offers a wide range of services that most other clinics are not equipped for such as ultrasounds, digital x-rays, echocardiograms, pathology and they have state of the art dental equipment. CVC is proud of their new mobile clinic that serves Rankin and Simpson County. Any service that they offer in the clinic can also be performed in the mobile clinic. They also offer hospice care and excellent boarding facilities. CVC is celebrating 40 years in business this year. Dr. Jim Anderson and Dr. Gail Anderson opened the business in 1978 and have recently retired. Dr. Jenny Sowell was selected as the MVMA Young Veterinarian of the Year this year and Dr. Todd Sullivan received the same award in 2017!
